Ilaris (canakinumab) is a medicine prescribed for the treatment of:
Periodic Fever Syndromes:
- Cryopyrin-Associated Periodic Syndromes (CAPS) in adults and children (4+), including Familial Cold Auto-inflammatory Syndrome (FCAS) and Muckle-Wells Syndrome (MWS);
- Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor Associated Periodic Syndrome (TRAPS) in adults and children;
- Hyperimmunoglobulin D Syndrome (HIDS)/Mevalonate Kinase Deficiency (MKD) in adults and children;
- Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF) in adults and children.
Active Still’s Disease:
- Including Adult-Onset Still’s Disease (AOSD) and Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (SJIA) in adults and children.
Gout flares:
- In adults who don’t tolerate or respond well enough to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and colchicine, and for whom repeated corticosteroid treatment is not appropriate.
Ilaris (canakinumab) is available as an injection, in single-dose vials (150 mg/mL).
